Relevant Words of God:
If you are very cunning, then you will have a guarded heart and thoughts of suspicion regarding all matters and all men. For this reason, your faith in Me is built upon a foundation of suspicion. Such manner of faith is one I shall never acknowledge. Without true faith, then your love is far from true love. And if you even doubt God and speculate about Him at will, then you are certainly the most cunning of men.
from “How to Know the God on Earth” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Those who do not live their life with honesty, who behave one way in front of others but another way behind their backs, who give an appearance of humility, patience, and love while in essence they are insidious, cunning, and have no loyalty to God—these people are the typical representatives of those living under the influence of darkness. They are the ilk of the serpent.
from “Escape From the Influence of Darkness and You Will Be Gained by God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Later, on the road ahead, you must not create artifice or engage in deception and crookedness, otherwise the consequences will be unimaginable! You still do not understand what deception and crookedness are. Any actions or behaviors which you cannot let Me see, which you cannot bring out into the open are deception and crookedness. Now you should understand this! If you engage in deception and crookedness in the future, do not pretend to not understand, that is just to knowingly do wrong, to be even more guilty. This will only lead to you being burnt by the fire, or even worse, ruining yourselves.
from Utterances and Testimonies of Christ in the Beginning
In Me everything is righteous and there is absolutely no unrighteousness, no deceit, and no crookedness; whosoever is crooked and deceitful must be a son of hell—must be born in Hades. In Me everything is overt; whatever I say to accomplish is accomplished and whatever I say to establish is established, and no one can change or emulate these things because I am the one and only God Himself.
from Utterances and Testimonies of Christ in the Beginning
You ought to know that God likes an honest man. God has the substance of faithfulness, and so His word can always be trusted. Furthermore, His actions are faultless and unquestionable. This is why God likes those who are absolutely honest with Him. … You should know whether there is true faith and true loyalty within you, whether in your record you have suffered for God, and whether you wholly submit to God. If you lack these, then within you remains disobedience, deceit, greed, and discontent. As your heart is not honest, you have never received the appreciation of God and never lived in the light. What one’s fate will become hinges upon whether he has an honest and blood-red heart, and whether he has a pure soul. If you are one who is most dishonest, with a heart of malice, and an unclean soul, then the record of your fate is certainly in the place where man is punished. If you claim to be very honest, yet never act in accordance with the truth or speak a word of truth, then do you still expect God to reward you? Do you still hope for God to regard you as the apple of His eye? Is this thinking not preposterous? You deceive God in all things, so how can the house of God accommodate one such as you who does not have clean hands?
from “Three Admonitions” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
For everyone, salvation is very important. Think about it, has God referred to this elsewhere? Only rarely does He refer to the difficulty of being saved, but He did speak of it when talking about being honest. If you do not act in this way, then you are someone who is very hard to save; being hard to save means it is not easy for you to be saved, you are incapable of taking the right track to salvation, and so it is impossible to save you. God says this in order to give some room. That is, you are not easy to save, but on the other hand, if you put God’s words into practice, there is hope for you and you can be saved. If you do not put God’s words into practice, and if you never dissect your own secrets or difficulties, or never tell anyone these private things or open up to people about them, commune with people about them, or dissect them with people in order to lay yourself bare, then there’s no possibility of you being saved. And why is that? If you do not lay yourself bare or dissect yourself in this way, your corrupt disposition can never change. That’s what these words mean. And if you do not change, you can forget being saved. This is God’s will, and this is God’s intention in saying these words. Why has God always emphasized being honest? Because it is so important; it directly relates to whether or not you can be saved. … God wants people who are honest. If you aren’t honest—if you’re treacherous, crooked, and insidious—then you are not an honest person, and if you aren’t an honest person, there’s no chance that God will save you; you cannot possibly be saved. You have not changed into someone who is honest….
from “To Be Honest, You Should Lay Yourself Open to Others” in Records of Christ’s Talks
God does not make those who are deceitful perfect. If your heart is not honest, if you are not an honest person, then God will never gain you. You, too, will never gain the truth, and will be incapable of gaining God. And what does it mean that you are incapable of gaining God? If you can’t gain God, then you haven’t understood the truth, you are hostile to God, you are incompatible with God, and He is not your God. And if God is not your God, you shall not be saved. If you cannot be saved, what are you doing believing in God? If you cannot be saved, you shall forever be the enemy of God, and your outcome is determined, right?

The Man’s Fellowship:
Deceitful people not only deceive other people, they are also deceitful to God, because it is their nature to be deceitful. From the attitude that deceitful people hold toward the word of God we can see the nature of deceitful people: They are always suspicious toward the word of God, and they do not really believe the word of God. On this point, deceitful people and honest people are completely different. Honest people are particularly artless. They believe what God says, they submit to whatever God says, and they do just as God requires. God therefore likes honest people, and He blesses honest people. Honest people are the easiest people in whom the Holy Spirit can work. A deceitful person is the complete opposite. Regardless of how God speaks, the deceitful person is always suspicious that it is a device, that it is wisdom. It would not be easy for them to accept it and carry it out. Deceitful people are not only suspicious of the word of God, they are also good at studying the work of God. They always try to figure out God’s true purpose so that they can carry out a transaction. It is clear that deceitful people are most capable at bartering. The philosophy of deceitful people is the philosophy of barter; it is a philosophy of not losing. In their belief in God they barter with God. They take to heart whether in their faith they will be blessed or cursed, and are even more anxious whether they are people of God or they are service-doers. They are constantly calculating: Am I ultimately one of God’s people or a service-doer? Any day that they are not clear about this issue is a day on which they won’t settle down and seek life. We see that deceitful people are the most cunning of people; they are all cunning foxes. God therefore hates deceitful people most, does not want to expend more effort on deceitful people, and does not want to say anything more to deceitful people. Deceitful people are always nitpicking in approaching the words of God, searching for handles and bases in the words and phrasing. They think that this is the only way to fathom God’s exact intention. Because deceitful people approach the words of God with an attitude of suspicion, rebellion, resistance, and disbelief, they completely lose the work of the Holy Spirit. In reading God’s word, they do not receive even a speck of enlightenment. Deceitful people therefore appear exceptionally absurd, exceptionally clumsy concerning God’s words. In fact, there is absolutely no contradiction in the words of God, yet they seek out many places of contradiction and land themselves in predicaments. This shows that they are not spiritually open and it shows the pitiable situation of them having no enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. From the attitude with which deceitful people approach the word of God, we can know that in their nature deceitful people are one hundred percent Satan that resists God. All people who approach the word of God with an attitude of suspicion and disbelief are essentially deceitful people, who most certainly will not get truth in God’s words; they can only end up being eliminated.
from The Fellowship From the Above
It’s extremely difficult for those deceitful people to speak honestly or to do an honest deed. They would not do that even if they had to go to hell. Why is this? It is like, if they truly speak honestly or do an honest deed then they would suffer a big loss, or if they gave their heart to someone, they would have nothing left. I really have experienced how difficult it is for them to be honest people, because I have encountered too many people like this. The way in which these people believe in God is to rely on trickery to pass the days; ideally gaining blessing, but not losing out if no blessing is won. It is so hard for them to speak from the heart; no matter how sincere you are toward them, you are not able to fathom where their hearts are, as if there is no heart within them. They have put their hearts in their heads. You can’t fathom what they are thinking. I therefore call these people the nonbelievers. This makes things much simpler; there is no need to waste effort on them. No matter how practical the sermon is, it is like playing the violin to an ox. Their hearts don’t accept the truth, because they are always doing their own calculations. If you fellowship about the truth with them, they say, “That’s not how I see it.” Because they don’t have truth in their hearts, they do not acknowledge that other people are practicing truth: No matter how kind others are to them, it appears false to them, and even if someone else does practice some truth they consider that person as a fool. They who are covetous believe that other people are covetous, and they who are evil believe other people are evil. They are evil to the bottom of their hearts, staring around all day, looking to make a story of the shortcomings of other people. They hold secrets in their hearts and have ulterior motives. They are best at assessing the measure of a gentleman with the heart of a small man. They don’t even believe anyone who can put the truth into practice. Can anyone make friends with them? This kind of person is too deceitful. They are truly typical descendants of the great red dragon who are beyond redemption.
