Those Whose Disposition Has Changed Are Those Who Have Entered Into the Reality of God’s Word

The path that the Holy Spirit takes in people is first to draw their hearts away from all people, events, and things, and into the word of God, so that in their hearts they will all believe that God’s word is utterly indubitable and completely true. If you believe in God, you must believe in His word; if, having believed in God for many years, you still don’t know the path taken by the Holy Spirit, are you really a believer? To achieve the life of a normal person and a proper life of man with God, you must first believe in His word. If you have not arrived at the first step in the work that the Holy Spirit means to do in people, then you have no foundation. If you have failed to grasp the most essential principle, how are you going to walk the path ahead? Getting onto the right track by which God perfects man means to enter upon the right track of the Holy Spirit’s current work; it also means getting onto the path taken by the Holy Spirit. Right now, the path taken by the Holy Spirit is God’s current word. So, for one who wishes to walk on the path taken by the Holy Spirit, he must obey as well as eat and drink of the current word of God incarnate.
He is doing the work of the word, and everything takes its starting point from His word, and everything is established on the basis of His word, His current word. Whether it is to put an end to all doubts about the incarnate God or to know Him, one should put more effort into His word. Otherwise, humanity will accomplish nothing and be left with nothing. Only by building on the foundation of eating and drinking God’s word, and thereby coming to know Him and to satisfy Him, can one gradually build a proper relationship with Him. Eating and drinking God’s word and putting it into practice is for man the best way of collaborating with God, and it is the kind of practice that they can best stand firm in their testimony as His people. When one understands and is able to obey the essence of God’s current word, he is living on the path on which he is guided by the Holy Spirit and has entered upon the right track by which God perfects man. It used to be that people would, as they sought grace, or peace and joy, be able to obtain God’s work. It is different now. If they do not have the word of the incarnate God, if they do not have the reality of His word, they will not be able to gain approval from God, and they will be eliminated by God. To arrive at a proper spiritual life, one should first eat and drink God’s word and put it into practice, and then, on this foundation, establish a proper relationship between man and God. How do you collaborate? How do you stand firm in your testimony as His people? How do you build a proper relationship with God?

This is how to see if you have a proper relationship with God in your daily life:

1. Do you believe God’s own testimony?

2. Do you believe in your heart that God’s word is true and infallible?

3. Are you someone who puts His word into practice?

4. Are you devoted to what He entrusts you with? How do you behave in order to give your devotion to what God entrusts you with?

5. Is everything that you do for the sake of satisfying God and showing your devotion to Him?

By means of the items listed above, you may take stock of whether you have a proper relationship with God in the present stage.

If you are able to accept what God entrusts to you, to accept His promise, and to follow the path taken by the Holy Spirit, this is doing God’s will. Do you have inner clarity about the path of the Holy Spirit? Are your current actions in accordance with the path taken by the Holy Spirit? Is your heart drawing close to God? Are you willing to keep up with the newest light from the Holy Spirit? Are you willing to be gained by God? Are you willing to become a manifestation of God’s glory on earth? Do you have the resolution to attain what God requires of you? If, as soon as God speaks, you have the resolution to collaborate with Him and to satisfy Him, if this is the state of your internal psychology, it means that God’s word has borne fruit in your heart. If you don’t have this kind of resolution, nor are you pursuing a goal, it means that you have not been moved in your heart by God.

Once people have officially entered into the training of the kingdom, the demands that God makes upon them will rise to a higher level. In what manner can this be seen? It was said before that people did not have life, but now they seek life, seek to become God’s people, and to be gained and perfected by God: Isn’t this a higher level? In fact, the demands God makes upon people are simpler than they used to be. People aren’t required to be service-doers or to die—all that is required of them is to become people of God. Isn’t that simpler? All you have to do is offer up your heart to God and submit to His guidance, and everything will come to fruition. Why do you think it is so difficult? What is now spoken of regarding entering into life is more transparent than before; people used to be unclear and didn’t know what the reality of life was about. Whoever, on hearing God’s word, registers a response to it, or experiences the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, or in the presence of God gains His perfection and a transformation of disposition—all of these people have life. What God wants is living beings, not dead things. If you are dead, then you do not have life, and God will not speak to you, and even less will He raise you up to be one of His people. Since you have been lifted up by God, and received such a great blessing from Him, this means that you are all people with life, and people with life come from God.

For one to pursue a change in the disposition of his life, the path of practice is simple. If you are able to follow the current word of the Holy Spirit in your practical experience, then your disposition is capable of being transformed. If you follow whatever the Holy Spirit says, and seek whatever the Holy Spirit says, then you are someone who obeys Him, and are capable of being transformed in your disposition. Man’s disposition changes along with the Holy Spirit’s current word; if you constantly hold onto your past experiences and the rules of the past, then your disposition is incapable of being transformed. If the Holy Spirit gave utterance today to tell all people to enter into a life of normal humanity but you remain fixated on externals and are confused about reality and fail to take it seriously, then you are someone who has failed to keep up with His work, someone who has not entered upon the path on which the Holy Spirit guides you. Whether or not your disposition can be transformed depends upon whether or not you keep up with the Holy Spirit’s current word and whether or not you have genuine understanding. This is different from what you understood before. The transformation in your disposition that you understood before was that you, who are quick to judge, have ceased to speak thoughtlessly by God’s discipline; but this is just one aspect of the change. Right now the most critical point is following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Follow whatever God says, and obey whatever He says. People cannot change their own disposition; they must undergo the judgment and chastisement, the suffering and refinement of God’s word, or being dealt with, disciplined, and pruned by His word. Only after that can they attain obedience and devotion to God, and no longer try to deal with Him perfunctorily. It is under the refinement of God’s word that people are transformed in their disposition. Only those who undergo the exposure and judgment of His word, and are disciplined and dealt with by His word, will no longer dare to do things recklessly, instead becoming steady and composed. The most important point is that they are able to submit to God’s current word and to His work, and even if it is not in line with human notions, they are able to put these notions aside and willingly submit. When a change in disposition has been spoken of in the past, it has mainly referred to being able to forsake oneself, allowing the flesh to suffer, disciplining one’s body, and ridding oneself of fleshly preferences—this is one form of change in disposition. People nowadays know that the real expression of a change in disposition is obeying the current word of God as well as being able to have a genuine understanding of His new work. This way they will be able to get rid of their previous understanding of God, which was colored by their own notions, and attain true understanding of and obedience to Him. Only this would be a genuine expression of a change in disposition.

God’s word forms the basis on which people pursue entry into life; it has been said before that everything is accomplished because of His word, but no one has seen the facts. Today, if you enter and experience in this step, all will be transparent to you—you will be building a good foundation for future trials. Whatever God says, all you need do is to enter into His word. When God says He will begin to chastise people, accept His chastisement. When God asks people to die, accept that trial. If you are always living within His newest utterances, God’s word will perfect you in the end. The more you enter into God’s word, the more quickly you will be perfected. Why, in engaging again and again in fellowship, do I ask you to understand and enter into God’s word? It is only by turning toward God’s word in your pursuit and your experience, and by entering into the reality of His word, that the Holy Spirit will have the opportunity to work in you. Therefore, you are all contestants in every single method of God’s work, and whatever the degree of your suffering, in the end you will all receive a “souvenir.” In order to attain your final perfection, you must enter into all of God’s word. For the Holy Spirit to perfect people, He does not work unilaterally. He requires people’s cooperation; He needs everyone to cooperate with Him with conscious intent. Whatever God says, just enter into His word—this will be more beneficial to your life. Everything is for the sake of achieving a change in your disposition. When you enter into God’s word, your heart will be moved by Him, and you will be able to understand everything that God wants to achieve in this step of His work, as well as having the resolution to achieve it. In the times of chastisement, there were some who thought that this was a method of work and did not believe in God’s word. As a result, they did not undergo refinement and came out of the times of chastisement without gaining or understanding anything. There were some who truly entered into these words without a shred of doubt, saying that God’s word is the infallible truth and that humanity should be chastised. They struggled therein for a period of time, letting go of their future and their destiny, and when they emerged, their disposition had changed significantly, and they had gained an even deeper understanding of God. Those who came out of chastisement all felt the loveliness of God, and realized that that step of work embodied God’s great love descending into them, that it was God conquering and giving salvation out of love. They also said that God’s thoughts are always good, and that everything God does in man comes from love, not hate. Those who did not believe in God’s word or place importance on it did not undergo refinement during the times of chastisement, and as a result the Holy Spirit did not accompany them, and they gained nothing. As for those who entered into the times of chastisement, although they did undergo refinement, the Holy Spirit was working inside of them in a hidden way, and they were transformed in the disposition of their life as a result. Some seemed to all outward appearances very positive, filled with good cheer the livelong day, but they didn’t enter into the state of the refinement of God’s word and so didn’t change at all, which was the consequence of not believing in God’s word. If you don’t believe in God’s word, then the Holy Spirit will not work in you. God appears to all those who believe in His word, and those who believe in and accept His word will be able to gain His love!

Enter into that of which God speaks, placing emphasis on approaching your entry in a positive way and on finding out what should be put into practice; only by doing so can you have a change in your life disposition. Only through this path can you be perfected by God, and it is only people who have been perfected by God in this way who can be in line with His will. To receive new light, you must live within His word. It will not do if you have only been moved by the Holy Spirit once—you must go deeper. For those who have only been moved once, their inner zeal is aroused and they become willing to seek, but this cannot be maintained in the long term, and they constantly need to be moved by the Holy Spirit. Many times in the past I have brought up My hope that God’s Spirit may move people’s spirit, so that they may pursue a change in the disposition of their life, and while seeking to be moved by God that they may understand their own inadequacies, and in the process of experiencing His word they may cast off the impurities in themselves (self-righteousness, arrogance, notions, and so on). Do not think that merely being proactive in receiving new light will do—you must also cast off all that is negative. On the one hand, you need to enter from a positive aspect, and on the other hand you need to rid yourself of all that is impure from a negative aspect. You must constantly examine yourself to see which impurities still exist within you. Humanity’s religious notions, intentions, hopes, self-righteousness, and arrogance are all unclean things. Look into yourself, placing everything side by side with all of God’s word of revelation, to see which religious notions you are holding onto. Only when you truly recognize them can you cast them off. Some people say: “It is enough now simply to follow the light of the present work of the Holy Spirit without bothering about anything else.” But then, when your religious notions arise, how will you get rid of them? Do you think it is such a simple matter to follow God’s word? In your real life, disruptions can still arise from things having to do with religion, and when these things come up, they can interfere with your ability to accept new things. These are all problems that actually exist. If you only pursue the current word of the Holy Spirit, you cannot fulfill God’s will. At the same time as you pursue the present light of the Holy Spirit, you should recognize which notions and intentions you are still holding onto, and what human self-righteousness you have, and which behaviors are disobedient to God. And after you have recognized all of these things, you need to cast them off. Having you forsake your previous actions and behaviors is all for the sake of allowing you to follow the word that the Holy Spirit speaks today. A change in disposition, on the one hand, is achieved through God’s word, and on the other hand, requires cooperation on the part of humanity. That is, God’s work and human practice are both indispensable.

In your future path of service, how can you fulfill God’s will? One crucial point is to pursue entering into life, pursue a change in disposition, and pursue entering more deeply into the truth—this is the path to achieving being perfected and being obtained by God. All of you are slated to receive God’s commission, but what kind of commission? This is related to the next step of work, which is going to be greater work that is carried out throughout the entire universe. For this reason, you should now pursue a change in the disposition of your life so that in future you may truly become the proof of God gaining glory through His work, making you into specimens for His future work. Today’s pursuit is entirely for the sake of laying the foundation for future work, so that you may be used by God and become able to bear witness to Him. If you take this to be the goal of your pursuit, you will be able to gain the presence of the Holy Spirit. The higher you set the goal of your pursuit, the more you will be able to become perfected. The more you pursue the truth, the more the Holy Spirit will work. The greater the energy you put into your pursuit, the greater will be your gain. The Holy Spirit perfects people according to their inner state. Some people say that they are not willing to be used by God or to be perfected by Him, and that it will be fine as long as their flesh remains safe and whole and they do not suffer any misfortune. Some people are unwilling to enter into the kingdom yet willing to descend into the bottomless pit. In that case, God will also grant that wish for you. Whatever you pursue, God will bring it to pass for you. So what are you pursuing at present? Is it being perfected? Are your present actions and behaviors for the sake of being perfected by God and being obtained by Him? You must constantly measure yourself this way in your daily life. If you focus your whole heart on the pursuit of a single goal, God will assuredly perfect you. This is the path taken by the Holy Spirit. The path on which the Holy Spirit guides people is attained by means of their pursuit. The more you thirst to be perfected and obtained by God, the more the Holy Spirit will work within you. The more you fail to seek, and the more negative and retreating you are, the more you deprive the Holy Spirit of opportunities to work, and, as time goes on, the Holy Spirit will abandon you. Are you willing to be perfected by God? Are you willing to be obtained by God? Are you willing to be used by God? You should pursue doing everything for the sake of being perfected, obtained, and used by God, causing everything that there is in the universe to see God’s actions revealed in you. Among all things, you are the master of them, and in the midst of everything that there is, you will let God enjoy being borne witness to and being glorified through you—this is proof that you are the most blessed of all generations!
